SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing reflects the role of hairdressers who use a range of well-developed sales, consultation and technical skills and knowledge to provide a broad range of hairdressing services to clients. They use discretion and judgement to provide client services and take responsibility for the outcomes of their own work.
This qualification provides a pathway to work as a hairdresser in any industry environment, usually a salon.
This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government Funding.

Students in the SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing are required to complete a total of twenty-eight (28) unit of competencies to be awarded this qualification. This consists of twenty-one (21) core unit of competencies and seven (7) set elective unit of competencies.

What is the duration of this course?
The SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing runs for approximately ten (10) months, and is held three (3) days a week. Classes are held on a Monday and Tuesday, with a Simulated Hairdressing Workplace session held on either Wednesday or Thursday. Students are also provided an additional day for independent learning and catch up and free study.
All classes will commence at 9:15 AM and conclude at 3:45 PM, with a thirty (30) minute lunch break provided to all students at 12:15 PM. (Total 6 hours and 30 minutes)
Am I eligible for a Government Funded Training Place?
Generally, you are eligible for Skill First Funding if you are:
- an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen;
- physically present in Victoria when you are doing your training and assessment
Additionally, holders of a valid Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card will be eligible for further concessions.

What equipment is required?
Sechi Hair Academy requires all students to obtain a Hairdressing Tool Kit. Students cannot commence training in the SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing if they do not have the necessary equipment. Sechi Hair Academy has quality professional hairdressing kits available to purchase.
