Upskilling to the SHB30516 Certificate III in Barbering at Sechi Hair Academy requires the completion of the SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing. Please note that if you complete the SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing at another training organisation there may be additional units required to be completed.
This qualification reflects the role of barbers who use a range of well-developed sales, consultation and technical skills and knowledge to provide a broad range of barbering services to clients. They use discretion and judgement to provide client services and take responsibility for the outcomes of their own work.
This qualification provides a pathway to work as a barber in any industry environment, usually a barber shop or salon.
What units are included in this course?
Students in the SHB30516 Certificate III in Barbering are required to complete a total of twenty-six (26) unit of competencies to be awarded this qualification. This consists of twenty-one (21) core and and five (5) set elective unit of competencies.

What is the duration of this course?
The SHB30516 Certificate III in Barbering runs for approximately four (4) months, and is a mixture of face-to-face training and distance learning. Face-to-face classes are held on a Friday.
All classes will commence at 9:15 AM and conclude at 3:45 PM, with a thirty (30) minute lunch break provided to all students at 12:15 PM.
